About Me
Who is Samuel Burt?

Samuel Burt is a 20-year-old who studies "Film, TV and Theatre Production" at the Northern School of Art in Hartlepool. He grew up in Redcar and one day hopes to be able to make a living directing films. He is one of 5 children in the Burt family. He is an identical twin with triplets as siblings. Samuel enjoys weekly 5k races at the park run while going to the gym throughout the week. He enjoys sport but enjoy eating more which prevents any reasonable gains from showing though (he is sure).
Currently enjoying stop motion animation, Samuel holds big plans for his future. As you will see below, Samuel enjoys creating YouTube videos with LEGO and is creating an online animation community. With these endeavours, Sam hopes to create an audience large enough so that he can profit, and begin creating his own films.
Director
Since buying his first camera in 2017, Samuel has been an avid filmmaker since, he has directed 6 short films, many animations, many client videos, a documentary and 2 music videos.
The work Samuel has done can be found in his portfolio on the home page:
At the beginning of 2020, Samuel received a commendation award from the BFI for his film "The Operation". He has also received acting recognition from participation in projects such as director Richard DeDomenici's Reduxes. He played James McAvoy in the Atonement Redux at the end of 2018.
Samuel's favourite director is Michael Bay. That is a rare statement but pre Transformers Revenge of the Fallen, Bay had a run of very solid films, but it's his style that Sam is mostly attracted to. The telephoto camera, fast snappy camera movement and the flare and colour of JJ Abrams.
It's this style that Sam likes to replicate in his films and client videos. Sam began making client videos in the Summer of 2018, establishing himself as a freelance filmmaker. He has done several boxing event videos, golf promos and a football academy video. He is currently indulging in second-year university to carry on focusing on client videos but hopes to pick it back up come summer time.
